The file that I’m downloading is the image file for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express installer CD. It contains the software I need to experiment and create C programs for my future assignments. Its amazing to see that DiGi stated that my speed is limited to 128kbps only, but my download speeds proved otherwise. As you can see from the IDM download screenshot above, the current transfer rate is 322kbps, which is fast for a mobile broadband.

For those that still don’t know how I am doing now, I am now a student of a university here in KL. This is my second week here, and everything has been going really well since the registration day. I made new friends since day the moment I first stepped here. The next few semesters shouldn’t be hard, I think.

I am doing Bachelor in Information Technology, which will take me 3 years to finish. I still haven’t decided on what I will be majoring on as I need a clear view and understanding of each fields first before jumping into a decision that will lead me to a definite path for the rest of my life.

I still need to learn to do programming in C, which I think I can manage to get above average considering the fact that I have a little knowledge on the basics of it. However, I don’t think it’ll ever be easy when it comes to Calculus. Most of the seniors and coursemates I met told me that it is a grade killer subject.

Sorry for the wall of text. I don’t have any interesting photos to share in this post. And again, this post is about my personal life story. Thanks for reading, and wish me all the best in my future endeavours.

See? Less than 7GB of free space. This is what too much anime and drama can do. I seriously need to burn them to DVDs ASAP or the system might crash on me. Anyway, I just installed a new plugin here in my blog. Checkout the Streampad bar down below. Currently it has 2 songs, and maybe more will be uploaded if my average bandwidth usage allows it.

Expensive nasi lemak

Upon arrival, I directly checked in to a hotel and stayed there for 2 nights while waiting for  the rest of my family members to arrive on Friday. My younger sister is having her mid-term examination on the day of my flight so she had to come on Friday, where the school holidays start, along with my parents. I don’t intend to spend any time sightseeing around KL as I don’t have anything to buy or do there. If you don’t know me, I am a heavy sleeper. That is just how I always spent my free time. Lol.

On Friday, we directly took the flight to Medan, Indonesia. The flight took about 40 minutes. I wished it was longer so I can sleep. :( Anyway, after filling up my (visa?) form and hand it over to the immigrations officer upon arrival, I picked up my bags and hurried to a man (an old acquaintance of my stepmom) who already prepared transport for us throughout our stay there. We stopped for awhile at his residence to chit chat and started heading for Lake Toba some 2 hours later. The ride was quite long (3+ hours) so I slept all the way.

We arrived quite late coz we stopped to eat our lunch. Unlucky for us, the hotel that we reserved on earlier said that our room had to be given to someone else because we were late. WTH. Walking around the lake area on that evening, luckily a man (Indonesia is full with helpful people!) helped us to get a room in another hotel. The room is not bad, but at least we have a place to rest that night. The next morning, we hired a boat and a driver to take us around the lake and to the island in the middle of the lake named Samosir Island. Read more about Lake Toba here.

Samosir Island only has some little shopping places for souvenirs and clothes. I only bought myself a shirt and that is only stuff that I bought during my time at Medan. I’m not a shopaholic. Moving out from Lake Toba, we returned to Medan town and meet our connections there. Being able to know new people seems fun to me. We spend the rest of days sightseeing around the town, guided by on of those acquaintances I spoke of. I got the chance to try out meals that I never eat like ayam penyet and mie aceh. SPICY is a must for the foods there.

June 2nd is the day we returned to KL and stayed there for one night. The next morning is our flight to KK, so we stayed at Tune Hotels near LCCT. I left Medan with a sad feeling. I, myself not sure why but Indonesia is where I feel like home. I simply love the hospitality there. I plan to visit there the next time I have the chance to go on a vacation. Now, again I am away from home, about 330km away from home, to attend the invitation to a wedding in Sandakan. I travel by land, which made me quite tired of being a navigator. x_x
